Decision on XL Pipeline should be soon|
Congressman Lee Terry expects some decision on the Keystone XL oil pipeline sooner, rather than later. Terry says the pipeline has undergone the most scrutiny of any proposed pipeline, and a recent non-binding 62-to-37 vote by the United States Senate in favor of the pipeline should send a clear message to Obama Administration. The State Department is in the middle of the official, 45-day comment period over the latest environmental impact study of Keystone XL. It plans to hold public hearings next. The Department of State will be hosting a public meeting on the proposed Keystone XL project on April 18, at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island, NE The times of the sessions are 12:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
