Charges filed from manhunt on Friday

More this afternoon from Friday's manhunt in Hastings, as the 29-year-old Hastings man has been accused of trying to kill a police officer who was hanging out of a car the man was driving in an attempt to flee. Yesterday in Adams County Court in Hastings, Marty Deckert was charged with second-degree attempted murder and three related felonies. Deckert remains in custody, pending $750,000 bail. Sgt. Paul Weber leaped onto Deckert as Deckert started up his wife's car and accelerated. Weber was dragged until the car ran into a utility pole. Deckert ran but was captured after breaking into a woman's home.
