State Patrol begins special enforcement for Kearney Cruise Nite

The Nebraska State Patrol says it will team up with local agencies for special enforcement efforts during Kearney Cruise Nite this week. The event draws hundreds of classic cars and thousands of people to the south-central Nebraska city. It began yesterday and runs through Sunday. Brad Kernick says the extra enforcement along with their be smart be safe campaign will hope to encourage festival goers to make good decisions. The special enforcement effort, titled "Drive to Save Lives", will be conducted by the patrol, Kearney police and the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office on Friday and Saturday.
