Fourth of July activities in Hastings

It's an annual tradition and you can expect it again this year-the Independence Day children's parade around Fisher Fountain in Hastings. Families are encouraged to bring their children out for the YWCA's growing event. It all begins on Friday at 10:30 a.m. There are free games, a bounce house for a nominal fee and snacks for sale, too. But, Jennifer Lewis says the signature event is the walk around the fountain. If you're looking for some entertainment for the whole family later in the day, the Parks and Rec Department says to head out to Brickyard Park. Starting at 5:30 the Rumbles take the stage, playing some classic hits. There are food vendors, as well. And once the sun goes down, the fireworks begin. Ryan Martin and Jennifer Lewis were our guests on our morning conversation this morning, talking about the 4th of July events. You can hear that again coming up in the 8 o'clock hour or download the podcast today at
