Minimum wage signature campaign a success

Last week heard from supporters in Nebraska for a higher minimum wage that they are on target to collect enough signatures to make it a ballot issue this November. Sen. Jeremy Nordquist of Omaha says they canvassed Lincoln and Omaha, and met their initial signature goal. If successful, the petition drive would let Nebraska voters decide whether to gradually increase the state's minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $9 by January 2016. But Nebraska Watchdog's Joe Jordan says the next month could be an uphill battle for supporters collecting signatures. Jordan is the managing editor and an investigative reporter with Nebraska Watchdog-an internet news site focusing on reporting the actions of state and local governments.
